Front-End Web Producer/Designer

Working within a team - a Front-End Web Producer/Designer will design, build, update and maintain our current online communities. The candidate will be working closely with the production team and community coordinators. This position offers an exceptional scope of skill building opportunities for the right candidate.

Major responsibilities

  • Produce design mock-ups for clients while keeping to tight timelines
  • Design all aspects of our online communities
  • Build CSS/XHTML templates as per design and framework specs
  • Integrate interactive elements based on Community Server
  • Image optimization and conversion of design for the web templates
  • Update web communities with new functionality, content, images and small design components
  • Build HTML email newsletters according to established design
  • Work with the production manager to manage multiple tasks and timelines over many dynamic sites and projects
  • Skin Myspace and other social networking forums

Required Experience and Education

  • Post Secondary education in Web Design/Development
  • 3+ years proven experience designing websites
  • 2+ years proven experience building compliant CSS table-less templates
  • Experience seamlessly converting designs into CSS and HTML
  • 3+ years proven experience working with Photoshop/ImageReady and Illustrator for the web
  • 2+ years proven Flash experience, building players, editing others work, building navigation –basic to intermediate, solid experience and skills

Required Skills

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent, verbal and written communication skills
  • Self starter and excellent time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with all personnel
  • Deadline driven while maintaining a high quality of work

Assets, But Not Required

  • Experience with version control
  • Some Knowledge of dynamic web development and server side code
  • Some knowledge of ASP.NET
  • Actionscript
  • Some knowledge of Community Server
